The City of Omaha Planning Department is seeking a Transportation Planner to join our Long Range Planning section.

The City of Omaha is the largest city in the State of Nebraska located on the Missouri River covering over 140 square miles with a population of 487,000 and a population just under a million in the Omaha metropolitan area.

The Omaha Planning Department is made up of three divisions: Permits and Inspections, Housing and Community Development and Urban Planning. The Long Range Planning section is within the Urban Planning Division along with Urban Design, Current Planning and Economic Development.

In general this position will be responsible for multimodal transportation related plans, studies, and conceptual planning or design projects. The position will also lead the implementation of Connect Omaha, Active Mobillity Plan and collaborate with the implementation of Omaha's Vision Zero Action Plan and Complete Streets Policy.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree and/or experience in city planning, economic or community development, finance, real estate, environmental consulting, or sustainability.
