Awards Luncheon Celebration

The National Planning Awards are presented annually at a special luncheon during APA's National Planning Conference. This year's luncheon is Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in Minneapolis. The luncheon includes a special video that highlights each of the award recipients.

Award recipient recognition

Recipients of the APA National Planning Excellence, Leadership, and Achievement Awards; Daniel Burnham Award; National Landmark Award; and HUD Secretary's Award receive a personalized award sculpture and certificate.

Awardees are featured in a Spring 2009 edition of Planning magazine and on APA's website.

Jury & Judging Process

Judging for the 2009 National Planning Awards will take place through a two-part process during the fall of 2009. Jurors have the right to move an award nomination into a different category and may select not to present an award in any category.

2010 National Planning Awards Jury

These individuals will serve on the 2010 National Planning Awards jury. The nomination period for these awards will open in the summer of 2009 and the jury will deliberate in the fall of 2009.
