ToP Facilitation Methods TrainingInstitute of Cultural Affairs - USAChicago, IL Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitation Methods training helps groups think, talk and work together. It provides group facilitators with structured methods that allow a group to deal with more data in less time while incorporating the contributions of all. ToP methods enable integrated thinking and they help minimize polarization and conflict.
This training teaches the foundational values of: Inclusive Participation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Individual and Group Creativity, Action and Ownership, and Reflection and Learning. ToP methods use innovative approaches that have been extensively researched and field tested. These methods are supported by practical results that have proven sustainable over time, giving participants renewed confidence in their capability to support participative approaches and strategies in their organization.

Dennis is a professional facilitator with the Technology of Participation (ToP®) Network in Chicago, IL. The ToP Network is a partner with The Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA-USA). Dennis designs and delivers programs and training in Strategic Planning and Implementation, Mission Development, Public Input and Team Development. He is a Mentor Trainer who coaches other ToP® facilitators and trainers.
Dennis has extensive experience facilitating and training with government, not for profit, educational and business organizations. Dennis has also facilitated Public Involvement Processes to gather relevant input from stakeholders to inform future planning for programs and services. Dennis is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He has also done post-graduate work in Education. He also holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Garret Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL.
Judy Weddle Judith L. Weddle
Judy Weddle is a facilitator and trainer with International Consultants and Associates which provides skills and services in organizational and leadership development in the United States and around the world. Judy designs and delivers programs and training in Group Facilitation Techniques, Strategic Planning and Implementation, Mediation and Conciliation, as well as Leadership and Team Development. Judy is a lead instructor for the Technology of Participation (ToP)® Training Series. She is also a Mentor Trainer who coaches other ToP facilitators and trainers. She adapts and creates curriculum focused on participatory processes. Judy has extensive experience facilitating and training with government, not-for-profit, educational and business organizations.
Judy is a graduate of Western Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Additionally, she earned a Master of Education Degree from Oregon State University. Post-graduate education through various educational, private organizations and corporations and The Institute of Cultural Affairs is ongoing. Judy is a member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) is a certified ToP™ Facilitator, and a member of ICA-International.
