Safe Routes to School Webinar

This in-depth webinar on Safe Routes to School will provide comprehensive information on the Safe Routes to School Program, why it is important and strategies to implement a program at your school or in your community.
Upon completion of this training participates will:

- Be able to explain why fewer youth are walking and biking to school and what has caused this shift from several decades ago.
- Be able to describe the consequences of fewer youth walking/biking to school, to health and to the community.
- Understand the smart growth principles that encourage walking and biking by bringing destinations closer together with better connections.
- Learn the primary tools used to build streets that are easier and safer to walk and bike on.
- Understand why schools are sited in distant locations and strategies to change this for future schools.
