Planning for Healthy, Climate Resilient Communities

APA Minnesota ChapterBurnsville, MN

Free event

The Minnesota Department of Health is concerned about how regional and local climate changes, such as temperature and precipitation, are expected to have substantial impacts on public health, including increases in illnesses and death attributed to extreme heat events, extreme weather events (e.g., floods, tornadoes), air pollution, and vector-borne and other infectious diseases. Presenters will discuss specific strategies for planners to make communities climate resilient and thereby mitigate the negative health impacts of climate change.
