Emily Oaksford, LEED AP, AICP, is the Planning Associate at Casey Trees. She received her Master's in City & Regional Planning and Urban Design at the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor's in Psychology and Environmental Studies from the University of Florida. She believes that sustainable design can be achieved through context-sensitive and regionally-appropriate design solutions. She is an avid gardener, hiker, and biker, as well as a dedicated member of her community; she currently serves as the lead garden member of the Railyard Park Community Garden.

Maisie Hughes is the Director of Planning and Design. She currently oversees programs that ensure policymakers, developers, designers and the business community use design and construction techniques that protect existing trees and create spaces to ensure large canopy tree growth. Maisie also coordinates Casey Trees’ Headquarters Sustainable Sites (SITES) pilot project. Previously, Maisie was the Landscape Architect and Environmental Designer for Morgan State University where she coordinated landscape architectural services for all university projects. In addition to supervising environmental design, grounds and recycling sections of the physical plant department, Maisie conserved 8.5 acres of University forest land in the Herring Run watershed. She has also held leadership roles at Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission and DC Parks and Recreation where she implemented both environmental programs and sustainable landscape projects. Maisie holds a bachelors degree in Afro-American Studies from Howard University and a Master in Landscape Architecture from Morgan State University. She is a ISA Certified Arborist and Serves on the Conservation Priorities Nomination Committee for the Smart Growth Alliances.
