Tour of LID at Casey Trees

Take a look inside Casey Trees to learn how this Sustainable Sites Pilot manages stormwater with three green roofs, curbside bioretention planter, Silva cells and bioretention garden designed to grow large trees. Also take a peek at "Baby Boy," our 1,500 gallon cistern. Participants will learn about our other amenities including espalier apple trees and cool roofs.

Learning how to design for new EPA stormwater requirements to hold 1.2 inches of stormwater on site, in an urban infill project. Participants will learn about appropriate plant materials for the region, and large canopy trees that can be used in low-impact development. Participants will also learn how to design streetscapes for large canopy trees by creating space for roots to grow underneath sidewalks, using structural silva cell technology.
