Webinar: Infrastructure Financing Options for Transit-Oriented Development
EPA's Smart Growth Program invites you to attend a webinar on Infrastructure Financing for Transit-Oriented Development on Tuesday, September 24, from 3:00-4:00 Eastern.
Transit-oriented development (TOD) is located near a transit station, typically near a city or town center. It offers a mix of housing, employment, shopping, and transportation choices and can result in less air pollution, less development on open lands, better water quality, and improved access to jobs. Yet the infrastructure required to create TOD is expensive and funding for infrastructure for new TOD can be difficult to obtain. No pre-registration is required.
Click on https://epa.connectsolutions.com/epasmartgrowth and log in as a guest.
Please test your computer before attending the meeting at http://admin.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm
The Connection Test checks your computer to make sure all system requirements are met. If you pass the first three steps of the test, then you are ready to participate in a meeting. If you do not pass the test, perform the suggested actions and run the test again.
Some federal employees cannot access the site (or can access it, but then quickly lose their connection) due to firewalls. If you cannot get on the site after completing these steps, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is no conference call. Participants will hear the webinar through their computer speakers. Please check to be sure your speakers are turned on.
This webinar will cover some of the lessons learned from a year-long Smart Growth Implementation Assistance project on financing TOD infrastructure. (Read the report.) Speakers from the Utah Transit Authority and the NoMa Business Improvement District in Washington, DC will then discuss TOD in their communities.
