The City of Rochester is seeking proposals for a consultant to develop a Marketview Heights Urban Renewal District Plan for the strategic revitalization of the area.

The Plan will be used to:

• Guide revitalization efforts in the Marketview Heights Urban Renewal District (‘URD’)
• Guide funding decisions for development and other investment activities in the Marketview Heights URD
• Ensure that all current and future activities and interests are consistent with the Plan’s vision for the Marketview Heights URD

Bordering downtown, the Marketview Heights neighborhood is located in the Northeast quadrant of the City. Named for one of its greatest assets, the Rochester Public Market, it comprises 2,893 land parcels mostly in residential use. The Marketview Heights Neighborhood is bounded by North Street to the West, the Inner Loop Extension of 490 in the Southwest, East Main Street on the Southeast, North Goodman to the East, and Clifford Ave to the North. Located in the Southern portion of the neighborhood, the URD encompasses some of Marketview Heights’ most vital corridors including North Union and East Main Streets. The Urban Renewal plan will be critical in establishing an overall vision for the district and in coordinated development strategy to maximize the impact of future investment.
