International

Welcome to the website of APA's International Division (APAID). Here you'll find information on our activities and programs, division business, a downloadable newsletter, and links and information related to international planning.

APAID is active in promoting information, networking, and professional development opportunities in relation to international planning. In pursuit of these goals, the division provides a limited number of grants to students studying abroad and to division members holding events. Other programs and activities include an exchange program for practicing planners, a quarterly newsletter, conference sessions, and networking events.

APAID has members worldwide, based in the Americas, Africa, Eurasia, the Middle East, and the Pacific. They include American planners with an interest in planning practice and urban development in other countries, planners living and working outside the U.S. who want to maintain contact with the American planning community, and others concerned with urban development worldwide.

World Town Planning Day Online Conference

RESILIENCE IN A CHANGING CLIMATE
November 12-14, 2009

Celebrate World Town Planning Day by participating in a "virtual" conference. Planners from around the world will highlight the strategies their towns, cities, and planning systems are implementing to be resilient to climate change.

Through case studies and presentations, you will learn what planners around the globe are thinking about — and practicing — in response to the climate change. The conference includes live voice and presentation links held over three days.
