As Chair of APA's New Urbanism Division, my main goals include promoting the division by networking with other national New Urbanist groups, increasing sponsorship of national and local New Urbanist educational opportunities, expanding networking opportunities, promoting developer/public agency cooperation and coordination, and promoting increased marketing efforts of the Division to augment membership.

I have been an APA member for 14 years and have been involved with the NUD executive board as the Vice Chair for the past 4 years and as the Secretary-Treasurer for 2 years prior to that.  I have also served as the Web Coordinator for the past 7 years. I feel that my diverse experience and previous involvement with the executive board makes me an ideal candidate for this position. I am a team player, committed to fulfilling the mission of the New Urbanism Division and implementing the division's work plan.

During my time as the division's Vice Chair, Secretary-Treasurer and Web Coordinator, I have organized the membership survey, participated in executive board meetings, contributed to the newsletter, coordinated and organized our annual business meeting, established new methods of promoting the Division, helped to establish long and short-term goals of the division, assisted with the development of the division's first brochure aimed at promoting new membership, and coordinated all activities related to the division website.

If elected, I will continue to work with our officers and members to build upon our accomplishments. As a person who is service oriented, I will emphasize the importance of assisting practicing New Urbanists, providing the tools needed to explain New Urbanist design principles to public agencies, engineers and to members of the general public.
