APA Names Chicago's Pullman a Great Neighborhood

Residents of Pullman on Chicago's south side came out on October 4 to celebrate the community's 2011 Great Neighborhood designation by the American Planning Association. Standing in front of historic Greenstone Church, APA CEO Paul Farmer, FAICP, made the announcement.

He was joined by 9th Ward Chicago Alderman Anthony Beale; Sunny Fischer, chair of the Historic Illinois Historic Preservation Agency; Mike Shymanski, president of the Historic Pullman Foundation; Benet Haller, Director of Planning and Urban Design for the City of Chicago; and Pete Pointer, FAICP, member of the Historic Pullman Foundation.
