On October 7, 2009, APA Executive Director Paul Farmer, FAICP, recognized the Montrose neighborhood in southwest Houston as one of 10 Great Neighborhoods and officially announced the 30 Great Places in America for 2009.
With the iconic Menil Collection museum as a backdrop, Mayor Pro Tem Sue Lovell and Council Member Wanda Adams accepted the honor on behalf of the City of Houston.
Representing the APA Texas Chapter, Jeff Taebel, FAICP, presented Neartown Association President David Robinson with the designation certification for the community's strong civic engagement.
