The Division of Planning and Environmental Management is seeking to fill a Planner position. Responsibilities involve the performance of a variety of municipal, regional or community planning assignments. Duties involve the participation in studies involving research, investigation, and analysis of physical, economic and environmental factors related to municipal, regional or community planning. Work is performed under general supervision.
The position is a competitive class position subject to civil service examination process. Minimum Qualifications : Either:
(A)Master’s Degree or higher in Planning or a closely related field; or
(B)Bachelor’s Degree or higher in planning; architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, environmental studies, geography, public administration or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in municipal, community or regional planning; or
(C)An Equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Entry salary: $43,120
After 6 mos: $45,389
All newly hired county government employees must certify to Sullivan County residency upon six months of appointment.
