May 25, 2006 Sherman Oaks Resident Elected to National Planning BoardWASHINGTON, DC — Jeffrey J. Lambert, AICP, of Sherman Oaks, California, was elected to serve as Region VI Director on the American Planning Association's (APA) Board of Directors. As the Region VI Director, Lambert will serve as one of the 13-members on the APA Board of Directors, setting the association's policy direction and strategic goals. He will address the board on behalf of members in Region VI, which includes California, Nevada and the Pacific U.S. Territories. Lambert will serve four years in this volunteer position. Lambert is owner of Lambert Consulting, a private firm that provides planning, government and community relations, strategic planning, and mediation services. He has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors as a professional planner, including serving as the Director of Planning and Building Services for the City of Santa Clarita, and as a planner for the City of West Hollywood and Kaiser Permanente. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's School of Policy Planning and Development and served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of West Hollywood. He became a certified planner in 1990. A long-time member of APA, Lambert has been active at the state and local levels within the association. He served as the APA California Chapter president, director of the Los Angeles Section of the APA California Chapter and chair of the California Chapter APA Planning Conference host committee in 1992 and 2000. Lambert received a bachelor's degree from Clark University and a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California. He serves on the Urban Land Institute's Los Angeles District Council executive committee, and is a board member and former president of the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project.
