Bellevue Manager Is President-Elect of AICP

CHICAGO — Bellevue, Washington's Comprehensive Planning Manager, Paul Inghram, AICP, has been elected to serve as president-elect of the American Planning Association's (APA) professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners. APA's professional institute is responsible for the certification of professional planners and standards of practice, including ethics.

Inghram will take office as president-elect on Wednesday, June 11, and will begin his two-year term as president next April at APA's National Planning Conference in Minneapolis. He will be responsible for leading the eight-member American Institute of Certified Planners Commission and guiding the certification process and new professional development program, Certification Maintenance. This is a volunteer position.

Inghram has more than 14 years of planning experience spanning both public and private sectors. He has served as Bellevue's Comprehensive Planning Manager for more than two years and is a certified planner.

Within the organization, Inghram holds the APA Washington Chapter scholarship chair position. He is a recipient of a Puget Sound Regional Council VISION 2020 award and merit awards from APA's Washington Chapter. Inghram also serves on the University of Washington Professionals Council.

He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Urban Design and Planning and a master's in Business Administration from Seattle University.
