Creating Employer-Assisted Housing

Housing Task Force member discusses how Illinois has leveraged employee dollars for affordable housing.

CHICAGO — Illinois ranks among the top 10 states for residential foreclosures. Planners agree that public sector resources are insufficient to address the demand for quality affordable housing.

Come hear how Illinois's Employer-Assisted Housing (EAH) program leverages employer dollars as well as leadership from both the private and public sector to create more affordable housing at the next Tuesdays at APA forum.

WHEN
Tuesday, October 14, 2008

TIME
5–6 p.m.

WHERE
APA's Burnham Conference Center, 122 S. Michigan Ave, Suite 1600

Robin Snyderman, vice president of community development for the Metropolitan Policy Council (MPC), will share how EAH has worked for employers and communities of all types and sizes. She will address how policymakers have leveraged this investment to support greater affordable and workforce housing policies and proposals, and how EAH can be a powerful tool during today's housing market downturn.

Snyderman has launched several nationally recognized regional housing efforts, including the Regional Employer-Assisted Collaboration for Housing (REACH), the landmark Regional Rental Market Analysis, and the Regional Housing Initiative. She currently serves on the executive committee of Gov. Rod Blagojevich's Housing Task Force.
