Urban Design
Atlanta
November 12–13, 2008
What system of urban design is right for the different situations in your community: Modernist Urban Design, Traditional Urban Design, Green Urban Design, or Systems Urban Design? In this Planners Training Service workshop you will learn how to select and evaluate the appropriate type of urban design and then choose the right tools for implementation.
You'll learn:
- Regulations that support place making
- Designs for streets and other capital improvements
- Sustainability requirements
- Financial incentives
You will also have an opportunity to try out these ideas by designing the framework for a walkable mixed-use district using a case study taken from the Atlanta area.
