Bridging the Gap

Bridging the Gap: Research Informing Practice and Policy for Healthy Youth Behavior (BTG) is a multi-year, national research project conducted by the University of Illinois at Chicago Health Policy Center, in partnership with the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research (ISR).

Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with related funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, this project aims to improve understanding of the effects of policies, practices, and other environmental factors on youth diet and physical activity, as well as on alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, and tobacco use.

APA is assisting in the development of research criteria and indicators to analyze planning policy and its impact on active living and healthy eating.
