Table 3k lists 36 issues for which West Coast coastal region respondents were asked to rate priorities for planning practice, analysis, and research. The five issues with the highest percentage of very high or high priority ratings from respondents are:

  1. Land Use Planning/Growth Management (85%);
  2. Infrastructure/Utilities Development (71%);
  3. Economic Development (70%);
  4. Transportation (ground) (68%); and
  5. Hazards Management (66%).

The five issues with the highest percentage of low or very low priority ratings from respondents are:

  1. Subsidence (49%);
  2. Population Migration (48%);
  3. Commercial Fishing (48%);
  4. Food Systems/Agriculture (46%); and
  5. Oil/Pollutant Spill Response (46%).

The five issues with the highest percentages of respondents rating the issue as "Not Applicable" are:

  1. Commercial Fishing (17%);
  2. Submerged Lands Management (13%);
  3. Transportation (marine) (12%);
  4. Oil/Pollutant Spill Response (11%); and
  5. Resilience (11%).
