High School Urban Planning Academies Inspire Project-Based Learning Milwaukee Public Schools, with help from planning and architecture faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is opening a small public high school this fall on Milwaukee's near south side that will focus on architecture and urban planning. Milwaukee will not be the only city with a planning-focused high school. Since 2003, the Academy of Urban Planning (AUP) in Brooklyn, New York, has been teaching planning techniques, building GIS skills, and fostering more informed community involvement.
