Bio: Peter Murphy is senior urban designer with Quebec City’s Design, Architecture and Historic Preservation Division where he is coordinating the long-range plans for the restoration of the Sillery and Charlesbourg historic districts as well as the revitalization of several village centres and former industrial sites. In 2003, he served as jury president for a provincial-wide architecture competition for the expansion of the award-winning public library in the heart of the Trait-Carré historic district in the Charlesbourg borough. In 2006, he served as a jury member for the Félix-Leclerc library competition in Quebec City and was an alternate member of the jury for the expansion of the Beaux Arts Museum in Quebec City in 2009-2010. Between 2005 and 2007, he collaborated with the Quebec Port Authority on several major waterfront revitalization projects for Quebec City’s 400th anniversary in 2008. He is currently coordinating the redesign of Laurier Boulevard, a major gateway to Quebec City and one of the city's main commercial districts. From 1992 until 2004, he was an adjunct of urban design theory and methods at Laval University’s School of Architecture in Quebec City.
Education: Peter holds Master’s degrees in architecture and urban planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
