Planning for Oil and Gas Development

Date: Saturday, April 13

Time: 2:30PM - 3:45PM

CM | 1.25

Communities in the Bakken region Montana and North Dakota have experienced significant growth over the last couple years as a result of oil and gas exploration and development. While planners have long focused on the physical and environmental impacts related to horizontal drilling (otherwise known as frac'ing), small rural communities are grappling with the longer-term impacts created by oil and gas development—from lack of affordable housing to wear-and-tear on water, sewer, and other infrastructure. This session will address these issues.
