Bio: Sonia is an Associate Engineer with Kittelson & Associates, Inc. in Boise, Idaho. She has 14 years of experience with transportation planning and traffic engineering throughout the US and Canada. The development of regional and sub-area master plans that integrate multi-modal transportation needs with community-supported and economically feasible land use strategies has been a primary focus of Sonia’s career. Sonia is highly regarded for project community and stakeholder involvement, including public involvement strategies; planning and facilitating public workshops and presentations; and leading stakeholder discussions with key parties and public officials. She recognizes that key to developing a community-supported, successful project is early, consistent participation of neighbouring communities and businesses and the ability to clearly communicate engineering data and technical information to affected parties.

Bio: Kamala Parks is a Senior Planner for Kittelson and Associates, Inc., a transportation planning and engineering firm. Her primary work is focused on pedestrian, bicyclist, and transit travel. By extension, these interests have included work on safety, travel demand management, and multimodal analysis tools. She conducted research for the multimodal level of service, a new analysis method that was incorporated into the 2010 Highway Capacity Manual, and was one of the first practitioners to apply the methodology to projects. She serves as a Pedestrian Safety Assessment evaluator, providing engineering and planning solutions to improve pedestrian access to multiple cities and counties in California.

Bio: Carl Miller, AICP, is a Principal Planner for demographics with the Community Planning Associate of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) – the regional Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Treasure Valley. Prior to COMPASS he has worked as a long-range planner at Canyon County and a current planning analyst for the City of Boise.
