Bio: Current work: Sessional lecturer in the Landscape Architecture department, and PhD student at the University of Guelph, Ontario. Current research focuses on visualization of landscape change for energy infrastructure. Bio: Andy Boenau has a passion for promoting livability and economic vitality through the transportation and design process. His area of expertise can be described as “human-scale design”. Places that are created to accommodate people, regardless of their mode of travel. He enjoys translating complex transportation jargon into everyday language that is easily understood by community stakeholders and elected officials. Andy lives in Richmond, VA and works for Timmons Group, a Virginia-based planning and engineering company.

Bio: Scott Shuford is a certified planner with over 30 years of professional experience in all phases of short- and long-range planning, code enforcement, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and facilitation of strategic development and redevelopment. He current serves as the Development Services Director for Fayetteville, NC, the state’s sixth most populous city and home to U.S. Army facilities Fort Bragg and Pope Field. His experience includes service in senior planning positions in Onslow County, Asheville, Wilmington and Carolina Beach in North Carolina, and St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Brevard County in Florida, as well as a two-year stint as a private sector planning consultant.
Education: Mr. Shuford is a graduate from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with both Bachelor of Arts (1978) and Master of Regional Planning (1981) degrees.
