Bio: Over 18 years of technical transportation, environmental and community outreach experience managing complex and controversial projects and initiatives. Since 2010, have served as a Regional Community Plans and Liaison Officer with US Navy Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic specializing in transportation, integrated planning and partnerships to ensure Navy mission compatibility and sustainment for installations in Hampton Roads and throughout the northeast including Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine and Navy operations in Philadelphia and Mechanicsburg, PA. Program focus areas and products include Encroachment Action Plans (EAPs), transportation baseline access and mobility installation plans, integration of transportation planning into sustainable facilities planning and direct and proactive engagement in local and regional transportation planning including technical representation for US Navy at the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) technical advisory and freight advisory committees. Coordination includes proactive engagement with local, regional and state rail and transit planners to reduce single occupancy vehicles (SOV) use at Navy installations which reduces congestion and improves air quality.
Education: Master of Urban Studies (M.U.S) from Old Dominion University in 2007 (Summa Cum Laude, Student of the year)and a B.S in Public Affairs and Environmental Science and Management from Indiana University in 1993. Member of the American Planning Association since 2005 and a member in good standing of the American Association of Certified Planners.
