Using Simulation to Visualize Planning Outcomes

Date: Wednesday, April 17

Time: 9:00AM - 10:15AM

CM | 1.25

Agent-based modeling (ABM) simulations can help planners virtually examine the effects of policies that are both costly and risky to test in real life. Yet while popular within select academic sectors, ABM remains in great part a mystery to many of its potential users. This session provides the opportunity to engage in hands-on exploration of simple ABMs that show the interaction between land use, water use, and groundwater levels.
