Diversity Forum
Date: Sunday, April 14
Time: 9:45AM - 11:00AM
Historically, minority communities have been under represented and underserved in their communities. A lack of mentors and leaders available to minority communities have often resulted in marginalized planning processes. Hear how elected officials, community advocates and organizations have found innovative ways to help build leadership capacity in minority communities and engage them in the planning and community building process. Discover how planners and others can provide support for these groups in our everyday work and incorporate “non-traditional planning” into strengthening minority communities. Connect with speakers and attendees of this event afterwards at a local restaurant for casual “on your own” lunch.
