Each year, the presidents of the professional planning institutes or associations report on the state of planning in Australia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. They discuss major issues confronting the professions such as demographic changes or climate change, new approaches such as sustainability planning, and the current political and judicial framework for planning in these English-speaking countries. The presidents also discuss their international outreach efforts to assist other countries develop planning capacity, and international cooperation to raise the visibility of the profession and its contribution to addressing present and future problems.
