Bio: Mike Hall has developed more than 150 internal ownership transfer plans for A/E firms nationwide over the past three decades. He is the President of Hall & Company, a consulting and professional liability insurance brokerage for architects, engineers, environmental consultants and surveyors. Licensed in all 50 states, Hall & Company serves more than 3,600 design professional firms nationwide. Mike has an engineering degree and has worked as a surveyor and engineer. He founded Hall & Company in 1989 after completing his MBA at Harvard. Mike has helped firms of various sizes and disciplines to effectively transfer ownership and his plans have proven successful despite the ever-changing economic climate.

Bio: Juliet Vong, ASLA, LEED AP – the Next Generation Owner; President of HBB Landscape Architecture. Juliet’s experience focuses on creating unique places that reinforce community identity. A graduate of the University of Washington, she began her career with HBB during her last year of school and has risen in the firm to become its President in 2009. Juliet is a past member of the University’s Professional Advisory Council and has received multiple awards from state and national design associations.

Bio: Colie Hough-Beck, ASLA has practiced landscape architecture, planning, and urban design in the Pacific Northwest for 35 years and is a founding Principal of Hough Beck and Baird Inc. (HBB Landscape Architecture) in Seattle, Washington. Her practice has focused on urban infrastructure projects with an emphasis on transportation and waterfront projects. She has received awards from APA, ASLA, and Puget Sound Regional Council. Prior to her private consulting work, Colie was an Associate Planner with the City of Bellevue in Washington at a time when land use and transportation codes and policies were forming the foundation for the urban center it is today. Colie is an active member of the Seattle Planning Commission where she serves as co-chair of the Land Use and Transportation Committee.
