Bio: Responsible for managing Lakeside Development, the transformation of the former U.S. Steel mill site located in south Chicago into a 600 acre mixed-used LEED-ND innovative 21st Century community. Focused on strategic and operational management, managing the consultant team and interfacing with elected officials and the local community to ensure successful completion of Lakeside Development.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio in Liberal Arts, a Master degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a MBA with a real estate development concentration from Roosevelt University.

Bio: In 2009, Mark N. Lundgren co-founded Land Pointer, Ltd., a consultancy providing services in planning, real estate, and management. The firm focuses upon public outreach and consensus building in matters of planning and land use. Mr. Lundgren had served the U.S. Government forty years in a variety of management and leadership capacities. With the U.S. General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service (1971-86; 2001-11), Mr. Lundgren served its Regions 1, 3, and 5, as well as its National Office. Among his career highlights with GSA, he: participated in founding a new Regional Office; established and managed a facilities planning operation; successfully completed intergovernmental coordination and nation-to-nation Section 106 consultation; managed and executed disposal of federally owned real property, conducting community outreach, marketing, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, environmental and historic preservation requirements; managed the launch of a new capital lease construction program; coordinated a national restructuring of interagency relationships with GSA’s border agency clients; and directed and led formation of a new real estate acquisition division. At the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Lundgren served as Director of the Real Estate Division at the 24-state Northern Division from 1986 to 2001, where he distinguished himself in supporting the White House Military Office, acquired and disposed of vast tracts of land, and as contracting officer for several cutting edge public/private ventures, lease construction, and housing development projects valued at well over $500 million. Professional memberships include: the National Trust for Historic Preservation; and the American Planning Association, its Economic Development and Private Practice Divisions, and its Federal Planning Division (Charter Member, Past Chair, Executive Board Emeritus). Lundgren holds the AICP designation as a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Education: Lundgren graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double major, in Political Science and Sociology. He earned his M.S. degree “With Distinction” in Management of the Public Service from DePaul University. Lundgren also earned a Certificate in Advanced Management from the University of Chicago, graduated from NAVFAC’s Executive Management Development Program, and earned an Executive Program Certificate from the Lowry Mays College and Graduate School of Business at Texas A & M University. He trained with the International Shotokan Karate Federation, achieved Sho Dan Rank, and was awarded diploma by the Japan Karate Association.
