2008-2009 AICP Outstanding Student Award

Submission window: March 2–May 5, 2009

The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding attainment in the study of planning by a student who will graduate from a PAB-accredited planning program during the academic year of the award.


Selection Criteria
The department head and other colleagues of each PAB-accredited planning program determines its own criteria which may include, but not be limited to, academic achievement, leadership, commitment to planning as a career, and community service.


Nomination
Each PAB-accredited planning program selects and convenes its own jury and nominates one student. Note: Self-nominations are not accepted for this award.

Procedure and Schedule
All nominations must be submitted between March 2 and May 5, 2009.

To accommodate a wide range of individual university award programs, there will be two primary shipping periods. Please review this schedule and allow time for personalizing with student name and school at your end.

  • To receive certificates for presentation before May 18:
    • Submit all information by April 14
    • Certificate(s) will be shipped by April 17
  • To receive certificates for presentation May 18 or later:
    • Submit all information by May 5 deadline
    • Certificate(s) will be shipped by May 15

Letter of Nomination

  • Letter must be on university, college, or school stationary signed by the Program Chair, Department Head or Awards Committee Chair
  • Include in the e-mail message:
    • School
    • Name of Student
    • Academic Level (graduate or undergraduate)
    • Name of individual and mailing address to which the certificate should be mailed; phone number; e-mail address
    • Date of Award Program
    • Special Handling Requirements: If timing of your event requires express delivery, please provide appropriate street address and FedEx or UPS account number to charge

    • Include additional information (listed above) in message screen
  • Scan letter and attach to message
  • Mail letter and additional information sheet to:
