As planners prepare to come together for the 2022 National Planning Conference in San Diego, APA is proud to have offered several opportunities for attendees to give back to our host city.
helping the unsheltered
In 2020, an estimated more than 7,000 residents in San Diego were homeless. While planners across the country focus on a variety of approaches to help the unsheltered, attendees at NPC22 took a few minutes and helped the community in need.
In partnership with the Downtown San Diego Partnership Foundation, APA hosted a space for attendees to assemble personal hygiene kits for the unsheltered community in San Diego.
With the help of our NPC22 attendees, APA met the goal of donating 1,000 personal hygiene kits to the unsheltered community in San Diego.
NPC22 attendees stopped by throughout the conference to assemble 1,000 personal hygiene kits to support the unsheltered community in our host city of San Diego.

The Downtown San Diego Partnership Foundation was formed in 2001 to support the economic prosperity and cultural vitality of Downtown San Diego. The Foundation supports special projects and initiatives to benefit Downtown's neighborhoods, community, and public spaces.
