Podcast: Building Coastal Resilience Through Capital Improvements Planning

I recently had the opportunity to record a half-hour podcast with Jeffrey Payne, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office for Coastal Management (OCM), and Chad Berginnis, executive director of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM).

OCM conducted a competition last year for proposals for Regional Coastal Resilience, and ASFPM and APA collaborated on one of the original six projects funded. NOAA has subsequently elected to fund six more under a 2016 competition.

In this discussion, Payne and Berginnis discuss what NOAA is seeking to achieve and what the two organizations will be doing over the next three years as they complete the project, “Building Coastal Resilience through Capital Improvements Planning: Guidance for Practitioners.”
