Environmental Defense Fund
Washington, DC, United States
The Environmental Defense Fund is dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of all people, including future generations. Among these rights are access to clean air and water, healthy and nourishing food, and flourishing ecosystems. Four decades ago, EDF helped launch the modern environmental era by winning a ban on DDT, a pesticide that threatened the survival of magnificent birds and endangered humans as well. Incorporated in 1967, Environmental Defense Fund has since become one of America's most influential environmental advocacy groups, leading transformative initiatives that are grounded in science and economics to stabilize climate, restore ocean fisheries, safeguard land, water and wildlife resources, and protect human health.
