Washington DC Tour-Reimagining Urban Parks for the 21st Century

I was a speaker at this event. It was a great chance to discuss with other downtown managers the challenges and implementation successes in bringing world class parks into dense neighborhoods, and the best strategies for planning and partnering with municipalities and private sector partners to do so.

Hemisfair - More than a Park

A truly inspiring project that will help change this area and already has. The lessons and the take away from this project have already caused me to think bigger and hope I can encourage others to as well. The leadership and creativity of the park was awesome.

Alamo Master Plan

This project and the complexity regarding the community sentiment was most impressive. The community partners are to be commended on their leadership efforts.

Tex-Next - Creative City of Gastronomy

It was great to have a better understanding of what having a major institution like CIA can do for a region. I would have like to have had a better understanding of what the city's role was to facilitate getting the CIA to open a campus in their city. Although the story of the Pearl District is awesome, I had signed up for an earlier tour and was hoping for more stories from other vendors outside of the pearl. More local institutions and operators and how they give back?

The Pearl – How a Historic Brewery Transformed a City

Visionary and amazing project. San Antonio is fortunate that the stories of the Pearl Brewery area are not lost and have been reinterpreted throughout a highly successful private development. This project shows how one project can start to create a true destination and provide pride for a community.

West Side Murals Bike Tour

This tour was partially a problem due to weather. However, I would have loved to have more of an understanding of the community, seen more projects and understood the impact, rather than learning specifically about a few pieces.
