Frontier Forward provides dynamic, multi-dimensional planning that considers housing, lifestyle, design, environment, economy, and everything in between. Our focus is small towns with big challenges in the Rocky Mountain West. We provide development review, entitlement, long-term planning, and planning-oriented graphic design services for government agencies, private developers, and nonprofit organizations. We also convene the Mountain and Resort Town Planners Summit. The idea of "Frontier Forward" is the evolution of planning in the west. The Homestead Act of 1862 led to the township and range system which rendered much of the West as a two-dimensional grid. However, plats and surveys do not a community make. Frontier Forward seeks to add what we call the "character dimension," an approach to planning that incorporates people, place, and products.
