Fascinating presentation of how ancient Hawaiian resource management, was able to feed as many people on the island as today, solely from the bounties of local production. Interesting theories on how these strategies could inform how we should currently be planning on the island.

This event showed the multi-year grit and determination of State Senator Donovan Dela Cruz who is spearheading the revitalization of agriculture in Central Oahu along with jobs and community improvements to Whitmore Village and Wahiawa Town. The cooperation and funding from many government agencies as well as private entities provide much hope for the future agriculture.

Always useful to hear from APA national representatives. We can become somewhat isolated here in the middle of the Pacific from what is taking place back east.

Important primer for a significant part of the development process in Hawai`i. These updates from the new executive officer and a long-time planner provided context and direction to the audience. Questions and answers were lively and instructive.

Not well-balanced. Viewpoint was from developer's and developer's advocate. Missing was the regulatory agencies side of the story. There is always more to be considered in complex regulatory proceedings that also involve legal proceedings.

sorry-- the national president covered a lot of materials, but she wasn't a captivating speaker. exacerbating her message delivery was the odd room set up; she was separated from the audience by a huge dance floor.

Our group ran through a series of exercises that posed ethical questions. I valued the input from my colleagues since they have different experiences and viewpoints and come from many different backgrounds. It was interesting to sift through these influences to arrive at our ethical choice.

This session was very thin and revolved around a single topic (broadband) that really wasn't weighty enough for a whole session. However, the speakers were enthusiastic and well-prepared.

This session was like drinking from a fire hose - essential information provided in a fast-paced session. Both presenters were well prepared, knew their topic, and supported the information with available on-line websites and resources, to allow the attendees to retain and expand knowledge of the subject area.
