Florida Redevelopment Association
Tallahassee, FL, United States
The Florida Redevelopment Association is an association whose mission is to: - Provide a forum for members to share knowledge and common experiences regarding redevelopment opportunities and problems. - Encourage adoption of legal and financial tools and programs favorable to community redevelopment. - Serve as a statewide clearinghouse for redevelopment information. An important function of the FRA is to advocate on behalf of community redevelopment. We support the ability of local governments to create and effectively use community redevelopment agencies to redevelop and revitalize their urban areas. This includes the use of increment financing. We further support local control and disposition of any disputes between local governments over the use of such agencies and financing. The most immediate services we provide are networking opportunities with other members and quality educational programs. The Florida Redevelopment Association brings together professionals from around the state who are involved in preserving and improving Florida’s communities. Founded in 1974 to promote redevelopment and growth of downtowns, the original base was businesses and Downtown Development Authorities. The focus was later broadened to encompass community redevelopment agencies and Main Street Programs. Today, the FRA also includes consultants, vendors, non-profit organizations, developers and other redevelopment entities. Our goal is to be a comprehensive association for all players in Florida’s urban revitalization network. Let Us Know How May We Help You.
