Earning Continuing Education Credits
AICP Certification Maintenance
At NPC19, AICP members have the opportunity to earn up to 24 or more CM credits — including credits in law and ethics. That's two-thirds of the CM credits required in an entire two-year reporting period.
Bonus: You can earn additional CM credits from NPC19 after the conference. Registration includes post-conference access to session recordings and presentations. Tune into CM-accredited sessions you missed and log the credits, or watch a session you attended in San Francisco and take notes at home.
User Tips: When you search the conference program, choose to filter activities by CM status: CM Credit, Law Credit, or Ethics Credit. If you are looking for CM credit, make sure one of these filters is activated — not all sessions carry CM credit. If you are a speaker/presenter, don't forget to claim one additional CM credit for preparation by clicking the box to confirm "I was a speaker/instructor."
For additional help with logging your CM credits, view the visual CM logging guide.
APA provides the opportunity to earn professional continuing education units from the following organizations:
- Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA-CES)
- American Institute of Architects
- Illinois continuing legal education program run through the Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board of the Supreme Court of Illinois (MCLE)
After attending a session that contains content that is in line with these organizations' CE requirements, please complete a survey online. You must complete one survey for each session that you are claiming credit for. Visit this page in April 2019 for the link to the survey.
APA will work with the organization for session approval and send you a completion certificate.
The ability to claim CE from other organizations is valid until May 16, 2019.
