MORE SESSION DETAILS

The session will provide a unique perspective on the challenges cities are facing in the area of climate resiliency, strategies that are being implemented at a district level, and developer response to new requirements that provide innovative solutions at a project level. Panelists from the public and private sectors will provide a compelling case for how planning and zoning are driving resilient solutions and explore how the dialogue between developers and city agencies is evolving in this context. The speakers will address the changing dialogue around climate readiness and, through concrete examples, outline how they are addressing the future impacts of climate change in the context of the City of Boston’s Climate Ready initiative. The panel will focus on both project-based and district-wide solutions. While the discussion highlights Climate Ready Boston and development projects occurring in this jurisdiction, lessons learned can be transferred to other urban areas.
