Walk the Bayou Coquille boardwalk trail in the Barataria Preserve, a part of the larger Jean Lafitte National Historical Park System. The trail is roughly one mile in each direction, beginning in a dry hardwood forest and progressing through cypress swamp before ending in open marshland with views of the New Orleans skyline in the distance. See local flora and fauna and learn about Southern Louisiana ecosystems and issues facing the wetlands.
