MORE SESSION DETAILS

San Francisco is not the city you thought you knew! Come see and learn about planning issues the City by the Bay has to grapple with as it balances rapid growth with livability/affordability. This balancing act requires planners to walk a fine line between preserving the city’s distinctive character/history and spearheading the change necessary in light of rapidly shifting economic, demographic, and environmental needs, including climate change, soaring real estate prices, and limited land availability. The tour will also highlight the city’s transformation into a global technology hub and the associated impacts. The 3½-hour motor coach tour will include stops at the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks. Perfect for both first-timers and return visitors, the tour will allow attendees to see everything from the world-renowned Golden Gate Bridge to reinvented federal lands like the Presidio to new attractions, such as tech and biotech neighborhoods.
