Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood is one of the most famous streets in the world. Its combination of glamor, rock and roll history, high-end dining and hotels attracts thousands of visitors every year. But like every great place, it needs careful attention to keep it vibrant. The City of West Hollywood would like Sunset Boulevard to provide great public spaces for its visitors, that it retain its music and entertainment industry focus, and that it is updated in line with changes in lifestyle and technology. As part of its overall goal of preserving and enlivening Sunset Boulevard, the City of West Hollywood would like to initially focus its attention on the iconic Boulevard's public realm and streetscape: can we provide great public spaces on Sunset Boulevard?

As a preparatory study in anticipation of a future update to the Sunset Specific Plan, we would like to:

1. Understand how the street, streetscape and public spaces of Sunset Boulevard are faring and identify opportunities for making sure the Boulevard remains a creative, active, and inviting place for all of its visitors; and
2. Identify opportunities for public and private investment in the public realm on Sunset Boulevard.
