Community Safety: Its Simplicity and Complexity

In spite of progressive policies and increased cultural sensitivity, generally, homophobia and violence against LGBTQ community persists. A general tenet of community planning is to promote the health, safety and welfare of a community, and a specific mission of several APA National Divisions is to provide a voice to the issues that minority and disenfranchised populations face.

The Stonewall National Monument – Past, Present, and Future

The walking-tour will introduce the place and the people who have been part of Stonewall’s history. The audience will examine what makes a place significant from the perspective of cultural history, and be provided an in-depth look into the national monument.

LGBTQ and Planning and NY Metro Chapter Planners4Health Project

Monday, May 8 | 10:30–11:00, APA Pavilion in the Expo Hall

Come hear about the LGBTQ & Planning Division's largest project ever — participating in the APA Planners4Health Project as we work to ensure that diversity is taking into consideration in the project. The project is being done in the New York Metro Chapter region. The grant is also a pass through from the New York Metro Chapter.

All members should try and attend the Annual Business Meeting. We need 10% of our membership in attendance to have a quorum conduct business.
