Overview

Chuck Marohn, PE, AICP, will share his wealth of knowledge about developing financially productive communities and you'll have the chance to speak with him about transportation, engineering, finance, or planning issues occurring in your town. Please bring your questions and ideas to the table. 

Charles Marohn is a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Minnesota and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Chuck is the founder and president of Strong Towns. He has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute. He is the author of several publications, including Thoughts on Building Strong Towns, Volumes I and II, as well as A World Class Transportation System. Chuck hosts the Strong Towns Podcast and is a primary writer for Strong Towns’ web content. He has spoken in dozens of towns and cities across North America, and speaks regularly for diverse audiences and venues. 

Charles will present strategies for planners to make their communities more resiliant.  Topics will inclue financially responsible growth, capital improvement plans, public investment, form based codes, street standards, walkability, economic development strategies, community supported agriculture, and neighborhood engagement.
