The policy framework for automated vehicles is evolving as rapidly as the technology. In fact, “fast and furious” aptly describes the current pace of AV legislative and regulatory activity. The implications for planning are huge.

This session will examine the state of federal AV legislation as well as ongoing rulemaking and guidance from U.S. DOT. Experts will discuss state-level activities and their likely impacts on both communities and the AV industry. Panelists also will highlight state and federal initiatives to help communities adopt and implement new smart cities and connected infrastructure technologies.
