Participants will visit the Center for Academic Achievement.  This redevelopment project consolidated administrative and academic programs from four different locations incorporating green infrastructure and an urban farm which supports the on-site culinary program. The Center for Academic Achievement is LEED designed building serving as a model for incorporating recycled materials into design, water stewardship and sustainable urban farming.  Rainwater from the roof is captured in an inground cistern to supplement farm irrigation and in detention basins, bioswales and a treatment train meandering through the site. An internal green wall is a hydroponic vertical garden assisting with air quality. Space is limited, sign up today! Tour includes bus travel, light refreshments and guides.

If this workshop does not have 20 participants registered on or before October 8, 2018, it may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Cost: $45
