Overview

Los Angeles Walks and Senior and Disability Action will outline the grassroots organizing strategies and tactics that helped these organizations select and frame their issues, conduct research, recruit people impacted by the issue, clearly define their "ask," and then demonstrate power. Speakers will explain how to collaborate with allies inside and outside institutions with power, how to pressure decision-makers, and how to generate press attention. Speakers will also address how to mobilize a base for the long haul, and how to keep people in the fight. The lessons from this presentation will be applicable to far more than transportation justice.
