E-bikes, E-scooters, and maybe even…E-hover boards? One thing’s for sure – the future is electric. Light electric vehicles provide more mobility options for communities, and they get more people out of polluting cars. But most people would say, they’re just plain “fun!” Whether a mobility company wants to come to your community or whether personal use light electric vehicles hit your streets, more than likely your community needs new policies in planning and enforcement that address these devices.

As the Executive Director of Bike Miami Valley, which operates a bike sharing system in downtown Dayton called Link, Estandia has been following industry trends and best practices as more and more communities see a more diverse set of mobility devices hit the streets. This session will cover the types of devices and uses, as well as policies communities can adopt to preserve the right-of-way and address public safety.
