Overview

This presentation includes a detailed technical discussion of the tools, techniques, and methods used to perform an extensive evaluation of a sanitary sewer system’s trunk sewer and its subsequent rehabilitation projects.  The session will begin with a summary of the study phase of the trunk sewer investigation including condition assessments of the various sections of the trunk sewer, challenges of video inspection of large diameter pipe while in service, various pipe materials and sizes, and manholes.  Discussion will address recommended rehabilitation and replacement strategies that were chosen carefully by evaluating life cycle costs of potential alternatives.  Lastly, this session will cover a series of recommendations for both maintenance and capital projects that were presented and discussed as a part of the study phase and then proceeded to implementation.
